How Azuvio works with SmartBill, Oblio, and Saga: an operational layer, not a competitor
Already using SmartBill, Oblio, or Saga for invoicing? Azuvio doesn't force you to change anything — it adds the operational layer they lack. Here is how they complement each other.

The question we hear every week
«We have been using SmartBill / Oblio / Saga for years, our accountant knows it perfectly. Why would we need Azuvio?»
Short answer: not to replace it, but to complement it with what it doesn't do. SmartBill, Oblio, and Saga are excellent invoicing and accounting tools. Azuvio is the operational layer that delivers accurate data to these tools, managing what happens before the invoice (orders, warehouse, EDI, delivery) and communication with the tax authority at the source (SPV (Private Virtual Space), e-Transport, SAF-T).
What SmartBill / Oblio do very well
SmartBill and Oblio are modern cloud invoicing platforms, very popular among Romanian SMEs (together exceeding 200,000 users). Their strengths:
Simple, fast invoicing, modern UX
Native e-Invoicing (SPV) integration
Cash management, basic inventory, payments
Affordable pricing (10-30€/month)
Large community, good documentation
For a company with <50 invoices/month, no complex warehouse, no large retailers requiring EDI, and no field agents — they are sufficient.
What Saga does
Saga (Saga Soft / Saga C) is a local, file-based application heavily used by accounting firms serving thousands of SMEs in Romania. Strengths: perfect knowledge of RO legislation, exports all statutory declarations (D394, D406, D100, D112), and is the "de facto standard" for the typical accountant. See also the full Saga connector.
What they don't do (and where Azuvio steps in)
None of these platforms cover:
Multi-channel orders (eMAG, Amazon, B2B portal, field agent, EDI Carrefour/Lidl) → Azuvio OMS
Warehouse with mobile picking, SSCC, batches/expirations → Azuvio WMS
Sales force automation for field agents (offline-first, contracted price catalog) → Azuvio SFA
Self-service B2B portal for direct customers (24/7 orders, AWB, returns) → B2B Portal
EDI with major retailers (ORDERS/DESADV/INVOIC for Lidl, Kaufland, Carrefour, Auchan) → EDIconnect 2014
Automated e-Transport (ANAF) upon shipment confirmation → ANAF Fiscal Hub
PIM / per-retailer promotions → Marketplace Connector
How they connect in practice
Scenario 1 — distributor with SmartBill/Oblio: Azuvio runs OMS + WMS + EDI + e-Transport. When the invoice is issued, Azuvio pushes it via API to SmartBill/Oblio, which then manages the e-Invoicing (SPV). The accountant works in SmartBill as usual. Advantage: zero change to the invoicing flow, plus all operational benefits.
Scenario 2 — distributor with Saga (via external accounting firm): Azuvio runs OMS + WMS + EDI + e-Invoicing + e-Transport. At the end of the month, export XML/CSV to Saga with all documents (invoices, reception notes, transfers, e-Transport UIT codes). The accountant opens Saga, imports them, and generates the declarations. The accounting firm doesn't have to change anything.
Scenario 3 — SME using SmartBill for invoicing but losing control over warehouse/deliveries: Azuvio adds only WMS + B2B Portal + bidirectional synchronization with SmartBill. A total operational upgrade with zero invoicing disruption.
Our diplomacy: they are allies, not competitors
The Azuvio doctrine is clear: no invoicing/accounting tool is a competitor. They are complementary. Our international scaling strategy is based exactly on this — we integrate with as many local ERPs and invoicing platforms as possible so that the client company doesn't have to change anything that already works.
Accountants and accounting firms are our natural allies. We make their lives easier (clean data at the source, fewer questions, faster reporting), we don't force them to learn a new system.
How to decide if you need Azuvio on top of SmartBill/Oblio/Saga
Clear indicators:
You have >100 orders/month and lose time consolidating them from multiple channels
You have a warehouse with >2-3 operators and still work with paper sheets or Excel
You work with >1 major retailer (Carrefour, Lidl, Kaufland, etc.) and face chargebacks for deliveries without ASN
You have field agents and still send them the catalog via email/WhatsApp
You perform >20 e-Transport filings/day manually and have already faced penalties
You need a B2B portal for direct customers to order 24/7
If you check ≥2 boxes, the Azuvio layer over your current tool brings ROI in <6 months.
Conclusion
You don't have to choose between SmartBill/Oblio/Saga and Azuvio. You use them together — each for what it does best. Your accountant stays where they feel comfortable, agents and operators get modern tools, and the tax authority receives accurate data on time.
