WizPro + e-Factura ANAF — proper configuration and common errors (2026 guide)
Operational guide for configuring e-Factura in WizPro: SPV, digital certificates, CIUS-RO, XML validation, and troubleshooting top 10 ANAF errors.

Context
Since 1 July 2024, B2B e-invoicing is mandatory for all companies in Romania. WizPro natively supports the generation of UBL 2.1 XML (CIUS-RO) and transmission to the SPV (the Romanian tax authority's Virtual Private Space). This guide covers correct configuration and troubleshooting.
Configuration Steps
1. Qualified digital certificate — obtain from a certified CA (Certsign, DigiSign, etc.). USB token or cloud-based. Cost: €50-150/year.
2. SPV registration — on spv.anaf.ro, associate the certificate with the company's Tax ID and elevate access levels for transactions.
3. WizPro configuration:
Settings → Modules → e-Factura → Enable
Upload certificate (.p12 or USB token driver)
Set XML upload path + SPV OAuth2 authentication
Activate workflow «preparation → validation → transmission → confirmation»
4. Field mapping — verify that all mandatory CIUS-RO fields are mapped correctly: Vendor/Client Tax ID, address, VAT code, VAT type per line, etc.
5. Sandbox testing — use the ANAF test environment (api-uat) for the first 10-20 invoices.
6. Production go-live — switch to api-prod, monitor daily for the first two weeks.
Top 10 frequent ANAF errors
1. ERR-001 / Schema validation failed — XML does not comply with CIUS-RO. Typical cause: unescaped special characters, decimals using commas (must use dots).
2. ERR-002 / Invalid Client Tax ID — verify in your SPV that you are authorized to invoice that Tax ID (not dissolved / suspended).
3. ERR-003 / Invalid VAT code — use exact codes from the ANAF nomenclature (S, Z, E, AE, K, G, O, etc.).
4. ERR-004 / Total amount mismatch — rounding difference between lines and total. Set WizPro to consistent 2-decimal rounding.
5. ERR-005 / Missing item code — every line must have a code (internal codes are OK, CPV is not mandatory).
6. ERR-006 / Incomplete address — street + number + postal code + city + county + country. All are mandatory.
7. ERR-007 / Invoice date in the future — check the WizPro system date.
8. ERR-008 / Missing exchange rate — for foreign currency invoices, the official central bank (BNR) rate from the invoice date is required.
9. ERR-009 / Unknown transaction type — use exact UBL 2.1 values (380, 381, 384, 389).
10. ERR-010 / Expired token — re-authenticate via SPV OAuth2 (tokens expire every hour).
Recommended daily workflow
Morning: run the «Invoices not sent to SPV in last 24h» report
Check «Pending» status after 1h (likely an error)
Manually resubmit blocked invoices after correction
Weekly: reconcile SPV vs WizPro (any discrepancy = audit risk)
WizPro limitations for e-Factura
1. Limited batch upload — performance drops when processing over 500 invoices/day.
2. Missing auto-retry — invoices with errors must be resubmitted manually.
3. Basic SPV monitoring dashboard — lacks proactive alerting.
Smart Layer for e-Invoicing at scale
For companies with over 500 invoices/day, Azuvio Document Hub connects to WizPro and manages:
Automatic XML validation before transmission
Intelligent retry with backoff
Real-time SPV dashboard with alerting (Discord / email / SMS)
Full audit trail for statutory reporting compliance
Automatic SPV vs WizPro reconciliation
See «WizPro Limitations».
Conclusion
WizPro covers e-invoicing for small to medium volumes. For high volumes (500+/day) or companies with zero appetite for audit risk, a Smart Layer adds essential operational robustness.
