Context
D365 BC does NOT have native ANAF e-invoicing. It is managed via a certified Romanian partner add-on (e-Compliance, Iconcept, Soft Net, others). Here are the top 10 frequent errors.
1. Invalid VAT ID or missing RO prefix
The localization add-on validates the partner during saving. Verify the RO prefix for VAT-registered entities.
2. Missing CPV code on line items
For public procurement (B2G), CPV codes are mandatory. Set defaults at the item level within the BC master data.
3. Mixed VAT rates
Each line must have the correct rate (19%, 9%, 5%, 0%). Verify the VAT posting setup matrix in BC.
4. Missing framework contract reference
Add the contract number/series to the BC invoice header.
5. Shipping address ≠ Billing address
Explicitly set both. The add-on includes them in the UBL 2.1 XML only if these fields are populated.
6. Resubmission after rejection
The add-on maintains the history. Correct the data in BC, regenerate the XML, and resubmit.
7. Incorrect Credit Memos
Use the BC Credit Memo function with a full reference to the original invoice.
8. Central Bank exchange rates for foreign currency
Configure daily automated updates in BC Exchange Rates.
9. Line-level vs. Total discount
Line-level discounts are mandatory. Do not aggregate them into the invoice total.
10. Non-UCUM Units of Measure
Use exclusively standard UCUM codes (kg, m, HUR).
Best practices
Choose a certified add-on with active support (5+ years track record)
Enable pre-submission XML validation
Set up a daily job for SPV (ANAF private virtual space) status checks
Configure email alerts for rejections
Track success rates via a monthly dashboard (Power BI)
Partner add-on risks
If the partner abandons the add-on (which has occurred), migrating to a new one can cost €15k-40k + continuity risks.
Azuvio Smart Layer acts as a mediation layer — managing validation, auto-retries, and providing a centralized dashboard regardless of the underlying add-on.
